Wildflower Train Rides

California State Parks, Railtown 1897 State Historic Park and the California State Railroad Museum Foundation are proud and excited to offer visitors a unique opportunity to experience wildflower fun from aboard a historic train. With limited availability, Wildflower Trains are available on two weekends – April 9-10 & 16-17, 2022 – and sell out quickly. Train rides depart from the Depot promptly at 3:30 p.m. each day.
During the picturesque train ride experience, local naturalist experts and/or interpretive staff at Railtown 1897 will answer questions and point out flower groupings along the way. Wildflower Trains take guests on a six-mile, one-hour roundtrip ride through the scenic landscapes of California’s Gold Country. Train ride guests receive a checklist, wildflower booklet and poppy seed packet, and more.
